But it has nothing to do with flights.
Rather, airport officials announced yesterday that HMSHost Corp., the world’s largest provider of food, beverage and retail concessions to the travel industry, has been allocated space to develop a Starbucks Coffee location.
The firm currently operates in more than 70 airport locations around the world, including 23 of the 25 busiest airports in North America.
“We thank Gerald R. Ford International Airport for this opportunity to deliver the world’s finest coffee to their travelers,” said Bill Casey, regional vice president of operations for HMSHost. “Starbucks is an exceptional brand and this airport is an outstanding transportation facility. We look forward to a very successful experience.
Casey said Starbucks’ entire beverage menu will be available at Ford Airport, as will souvenir coffee mugs, glassware and bags of freshly roasted Starbucks whole bean coffee.
