Tesa Tape Sticks To Metro Area

WALKER — Earlier this year, tesa tape inc. moved one of its New York-based distribution centers to an industrial park in Walker to be closer to one of its manufacturing plants.

Tesa tape, one of the world’s largest manufacturers and distributors of adhesives, leased nearly 94,000 square feet of space at 2945 Walkent Court in Walker — a building owned and managed by First Industrial Realty Trust Inc. of Chicago.

Grubb & Ellis/Paramount Properties brokered the transaction, which also had tesa tape considering a move to Indianapolis.

“The company made the decision to move distribution from New York to be closer to one of its U.S. manufacturing facilities in Sparta,” said John Kuiper of the industrial division at Paramount.

Tesa tape replaced XPEDX, International Paper and Carpenter Paper in the building, as those three firms moved to a 155,000-square-foot site on East Paris Avenue.

Tesa tape distributes pressure-sensitive adhesives to the paper, printing, corrugated, automotive, appliance and electronics industries. The international firm was started in 1882 and has its U.S. headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.
