GRAND RAPIDS — The Grand Valley Metro Council is now accepting applications for its 2007 Metropolitan Blueprint Awards.

The annual award recognizes individuals, companies, municipalities and organizations that have helped advance the Blueprint’s vision of creating compact livable communities, regional centers of employment, open lands, and well-designed transportation and transit systems.

The council will accept applications from Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon, Montcalm, Newaygo, Ionia, Barry and Allegan counties. All development and design projects submitted must be built, while policies and organizational projects must have received administrative approvals.

The Blueprint Awards will be presented on June 14 at the council’s Annual Growing Communities Conference.
