WRC Celebrating Its New Offices

GRAND RAPIDS — The Women’s Resource Center, a career development agency, invites area business people to join its staff in celebrating the opening of the center’s new suite of offices during an open house Thursday, Nov. 7, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Riverview Center, 678 Front Ave. NW, Suite 180.

Though the public is welcome, people interested in attending the ceremony are asked to make reservations by calling 458-5443.

The Resource Center, now on the brink of its third decade of operation, offers comprehensive employment preparation and career development services for women.

The celebration will focus on the notion of women climbing their own ladders to success and, accordingly, will feature a display of ladders representing stages of women’s career development.

The open house will include a ladder ceremony and brief remarks by the agency’s board president, Colleen Wolfe, who is senior vice president of Davenport University. That ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Riverview Center is situated on the west side of the Grand River at the corner of Front Avenue and Sixth Street, next to the river’s fish ladder.

To reach the center from U.S. 131, one must exit east onto Leonard Street and then turn right on Front Avenue, which intersects Leonard less than a block west of the river.

Free parking is available across the street and in the Riverview Center’s south parking lot.

The Resource Center moved into its new offices Oct. 1. For the preceding nine years, it operated at 25 Sheldon Blvd.
